In July 2006 Dell introduced the 3110 color printer in N. America and Europe, followed by the 3115 MFP four months later. Both print at 31 pages per minute (ppm) black and 17 ppm color and have duty cycles of 60,000 pages per month. While the 3110 is a desktop printer only, the 3115 MFP also copies, scans and faxes.

Both the 3110 and 3115 use the same supplies set. The toner cartridges are chipped, but the technology is different from other chips we have offered to date. The chip board is attached to a housing that contains a wire coil that acts as an antenna/transformer. The development system for these cartridges is somewhat different from what we are used to seeing, also. The toner is a two-part design with toner and carrier being separate. The carrier is placed directly in the developer roller chamber. The sealing system includes two seals – one for the toner port and a second for the carrier.

Printers ship with standard 5,000 page black and 4,000 page color cartridges. Both standard and 8,000 page high yield (all colors) replacement cartridges are offered by the OEM.

Many of the components used to remanufacture Dell 3110 printer cartridges are used to remanufacture cartridges for Dell 3130, Epson AcuLaser C2800/C3800, Fuji-Xerox C3290FS, Lexmark X560,and Xerox Phaser 6180/6280 printers.
